Background: Voluta is a yawl, built in 1900 by Stow & Sons of Shoreham for George MacAndrew, a wealthy shipowner then living at Juniper Hall, Dorking and sailing her from Seaview on the Isle of Wight. She was sold in 1905 to Dr. Jackson who later became Commodore of the Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club and owned Voluta until 1950. She was subsequently owned by HC Herman & WB Hall, WD Miller, Sir Hugh Bell, IM Pease and Tony Collingridge. Voluta was featured in the BBC series 'Under Sail' in the mid 1980s. Wanted: Voluta has now been fully restored in Cornwall under new ownership. Any information or past images of her will be gratefully received. Back to Can you help
