I have sailed on a variety of boats, mostly gaff rig, but also on modern yachts and am completely at home on Hannah sorts provisions.JPG (23170 bytes)the water.  I am a competent, reliable deck hand and an excellent cook used from a young age to combating seasickness in the galley!

I have also been employed as a boat-nanny and know how to keep children entertained at sea, whilst involving them in sailing at a level which they can appreciate.

I was employed for three months as cook, nanny and crew.  Chloe is a 40ft gaff cutter, built 1980 designed by Percy Dalton.  She is extremely pretty and very fast.  During my time on board we cruised Brittany, taking in the wooden boat festivals at Brest and Douarnenez, HC and Olly.jpg (38430 bytes)then the West Country and Channel Islands.  My duties included maintenance throughout, general deckhand, care for two children under four and catering for up to eight people.

Brilliant

Brill3.JPG (4302 bytes)This 61ft Sparkman and Stephens designed yacht was built in 1932.  Currently owned by Mystic Seaport Museum, Connecticut USA, Brilliant took part in the Tall Ships Race last year coming first in her class after a record-making transatlantic crossing.  I went aboard in Portsmouth as relief cook for a month and sailed with the team to Portugal, via Ireland and Spain.  I was responsible for provisioning the boat for the whole trip, keeping the accounts, and feeding ten people three meals a day.  When taking a break from the galley, I also helped out on deck and enjoyed a bit of high-speed sailing.
