Background:

George Matthew Henry White is believed to have been born on 25 December 1894.  His father's name was George and his mother Louisa.  He had a sister named Norah, age unknown.  He is believed to have come from Wales.  George Matthew Henry did a carpentry apprenticeship with D. Jones in Liverpool 1908-1913.  He joined the Mercantile Marine for 1 year in 1914.  Subsequently he joined the Navy for two years and went to South Africa.  In Naval documents he gave his address as Wheatland Lane, Seacombe (Wallasey area).

Searched:

Birth certificates 1893, 1894, 1895 for George Matthew Henry White and also George White.  No success. 

Royal Naval Ratings Service Records (PRO ADM 188/1176). No success

Birth certificates for Nora White.  Common name - impossible to tell without further information which is correct entry.

Wanted:

Any information on this man which might lead to the recovery of his birth details.
